Rainforest Hub 19 December 2015

Buangkok FC the originals were really up for this one. Our powerhouses How Meng and Eugene who very rarely came, came and what tremendous impact they showcased.

Here is the line-up:

GK - Tang Yao

LB - Q-S
CD - Kang Xiang
CD - Cher Siang

DM - Eugene
CM - Johan
CM - Alex

LW - David
RW - Boy wearing 'Shawn 7' shirt

ST - How Meng

Buangkok FC II had really big guns. That Brazilian came again. Dangerous Don is there. Kenny is there. But the young ones Buangkok FC originals do not care. Our history shows we are not afraid.

We were up 3-0. Then they narrowed to 3-2. Half-time ended 4-3 in our favour.

Tang Yao as usual commanding as goalkeeper. Q-S is not in a good mood and was defending well. Kang Xiang decided to attack preferring zonal marking. Scored 2 headers.

Eugene is magnificent. This is what just in front of the back four truly means. He's athletic, winning balls. Johan scored few. Alex, again, orchestrating most of our movements. David is playing hard, doing his best. That boy wearing Shawn's shirt delivered when it matters.

How Meng belongs to an official football club. Scoring plenty.

We were without kingpins Shyong Ming and Winston. Few understands what blocking angles mean. That leads to opponents shooting off target.

The score is we won. Read this: 13-5

MAN OF THE MATCH: HOW MENG. NICE OF HIM TO MAKE A RARE APPEARANCE FOR US. DELICIOUSLY CLINICAL GOALS. A SUPERSTAR AMONG US.

Then they equalized 1-1 with an own goal by Cher Siang.

Winston grabbed the lead for us 2-1.

Buangkok FC II equalized 2-2. HT.

In the 2nd half, we went up 3-2 with a strike by Johan.

Don won aerial duel with me and equalized for them 3-3.

They went up 4-3 with an own goal by Wee Zheng.

Cher Siang equalized 4-4.

Kang Xiang said he will mark Don and I was pushed to left-back. The opponents went on an avalanche and won 7-4.

MAN OF THE MATCH: DON. THIS GUY IS LIKE A SUPERVILLAIN. Q-S AS 'THE QUESTION' AND KANG XIANG AS 'NIGHTWING' CAN'T CONTAIN HIM(if you don't understand, The Question and Nightwing are comic book superheroes)

The originals had to come together again.

GK - Tang Yao

LB - Kang Xiang
CD - Q-S
CD - Winston
RB - Cher Siang

DM - Shyong Ming

CM - Alex

ST - Johan
ST - David

Buangkok FC II invited a Brazilian to play with us. In the 1st half, we were down by 1-0. We rallied. After tough mini-battles, we equalized 1-1. We were down by 2-1. Kang Xiang went all the way up and equalized 2-2. An own goal placed us ahead 3-2. Then we were pegged down 3-3. End of half.

The Brazilian decided to play goalkeeper for them in the 2nd half. The 2nd half is all about total football without the goal. Our defence were solid. Shyong Ming linking well with Alex who was everywhere. Johan scored the winning goal. The originals won 4-3.

Overall, we were superb. This is the type of spirit that we look forward to every Saturday. Long live for us!

MAN OF THE MATCH: Q-S

Saturday, 28 November 2015

Orange Team 4 Buangkok FC 3 (Aggregate 7-7)

I can really see the people I play football with are getting impatient and tired of me. I am working to amass money. Does it have to go down to the way I look?

These are the people who played...

Tang Yao
Kang Xiang
Cher Siang
Wee Zheng
Winston
Ah San
Alex
Shyong Ming
David
Uncle Hock
Uncle #88(not wearing #88, Ah San is wearing it)
Keith
Kenny
Kenny's friend
Don
Ronald
Uncle with spectacles
Tall guy with spectacles
Q-S

Did I accidentally left anyone out?

It's only 2 minutes and Orange Team went up 1-0. They increased their lead to 2-0. I came in and I haven't even touched the ball, I was yelled at. Another mistake and they went up 3-0. Half-time.

2nd half again I was yelled at. When Kang Xiang is one of those who yelled at me, I realized maybe I should quit the team and join another one. Knowing him for so many years, something is definitely not right when you are reprimanded loudly by one of your trusted friend.

They scored to make it 4-0. My right knee is smarting again so I sub out. Buangkok FC fired up. Ah Hock converted a penalty to make it 4-1. David scored a very nice goal 4-2. We narrowed the margin to 4-3 till the final whistle.

MAN OF THE MATCH: DAVID TEO. THAT GOAL IS SUPERB.

Buangkok FC 11 Buangkok FC II 7

The originals are in full attendance.

GK - Tang Yao

LB - Kang Xiang
CD - Q-S
RB - Cher Siang

DM - Shyong Ming
DM - Winston
CM - Johan
CM - Nicholas
CM - Alex
RW - Keith

ST - David

Buangkok FC II were almost full-team too.

We were up 6-1 in the first-half. With goals from Alex, Shyong Ming, David and Keith. Me and Kang Xiang were making telling contributions in defence. I have shown in my mid-30s I now can head the ball. And I will remain forever young. Alex again doing very well roaming the artificial pitch.

2nd half Buangkok FC II hulked up. Ah San led the attack. Kenny and Uncle #88 are choking us with their deft touches of the ball. Our defence were tested to the limit. From 6-1 became 9-5. The other team won't give up. We were basically defending our lead. David dropped back to defence which help us a lot.

Shyong Ming, Winston, Nicholas and Alex were in defensive mode too. In the end, we were sweating and ended by winning 11-7.

Next week both teams will be united in a match.

MAN OF THE MATCH: ALEX TEO. BALANCE OF BRAIN AND BRAWN.

Sunday, 15 November 2015

The Rainforest Hub 14 November 2015

We all know Q-S can surprise. And they're in for a show...

Another round of regulars vs Ah San's team.

GK - Tang Yao
LB - Kang Xiang
CD - Q-S
CD - Shyong Ming
RB - Cher Siang
CM - Wee Zheng
CM - Johan
CM - Alex
CM - Winston
ST - David

We were hammered at 3-0. We managed to narrow the margin by 3-1. Half-time.

People were congratulating me? Winston and Johan gave me hi-5s. People say I cannot head the ball. I win 3 headers in one minute with looks of shock on everyone. That's why when people say I cannot do this, I will prove I can.

2nd half, we narrow the scoreline by 3-2. The shock show from Q-S abruptly ended when I tried to clear a ball and twisted my right leg. My team did well without me. Going up 4-3. Then horror crept in. Ah San's team went all-out and won 9-4.

We have a match next week where Buangkok FC and Buangkok FC II will be united. We will have unlimited substitution.

For our last match...

MAN OF THE MATCH: AH SAN. INTELLIGENT. WONDER WHAT IS GOING ON IN HIS MIND IN THE 1ST HALF.

Saturday, 7 November 2015

Rainforest Hub 7 November 2015

Yes as I wished God because I was very skinny and pimpled-faced in 1995, now He granted it. Females who like me > males who like me. Of course there are still very few females who dislike me.

It had spread through the Buangkok FC. The majority of the core had decided to banish me to Buangkok FC II. You people think you're smart? These uncles' daughters are good-looking you know.

So this is the line-up for the young...

GK - Tang Yao
CD - Kang Xiang
CD - Shyong Ming
CD - Winston
DM - Wee Zheng
CM - Johan
AM - Alex
RM - David
RW - Keith

My team of Buangkok FC II some of them can play, the rest...*sigh*

In the 1st half, I played goalkeeper. I saved 7 shots but conceded 5. So the half-time score is Buangkok FC 5, 2nd team 2.

2nd half I played striker. Buangkok FC II came so close to equalize. From 5-4 to 6-5 to 8-7 till the final score of 11-8.

I can list out 5 players from the core who perpetuated my exile. One of the reason should be don't like my face. Why? Because most girls think I'm good-looking. How many girls actually think I'm ugly? 5% of them?

How am I supposed to give proper update?

MAN OF THE MATCH: UNCLE #88. Doesn't give up. Chip in a number of goals.

Saturday, 31 October 2015

Orange Team 3 Buangkok FC 4

Buangkok FC and Buangkok FC II are united for this match.

We went ahead 1-0 when Daniel scored. Then they equalized 1-1. The uncle who wore #88 placed us ahead 2-1. Again the team in orange nullified it with 2-2. Half-time.

To be fair, we had numerical advantage. Unlimited substitutions for us. How many do orange team have on their bench? 1 or 2? I was on the sidelines for the 2nd half. I decided to voice out. 'You're the man Tang Yao' 'Come on! Don!' 'Nice clearance.' 'Defend. Only one man in front.'

One of our oldies took a free-kick. It was superbly clinical. Positioned at the left, flew right into top corner of the net. Placed us ahead 3-2. Then Alex cooly converted a penalty to seal us at 4-2. The orange team pulled one back 4-3.

Here are those who played...

Tang Yao - As goalkeeper blocked many shots.

Ah San - The founder, even at his age, one of our best.

Q-S - Joker. Yes I am the author of this blog.

Winston - Very fit defender.

Shyong Ming - Another excellent showing.

Daniel - Ok he scored.

Uncle Justin - Technically good. Thanks for the ride home through your van.

Uncle #88 - This man really know how to dictate midfield.

Kenny - He is a good striker.

Uncle who scored that magnificent free-kick - It's on video. I'd like to see all the pics and videos of the match that Ah San's children took.

Uncle with spectacles - Playing in emergency defence did ok.

David - 1st half left-wing. 2nd half defence. Our constant mainstay.

Alex - The heartbeat of the team. Our mastermind without puppet and strings.

Glen - We haven't seen him for 2 years. Then he show up with his gf.

Foreign guy - Was pushed to the left.

Don - Dangerous striker.

Tall man with spectacles - Hey at least he put on his boots and play...

Poor orange team gave all they got. They will improve. Remember in 2010 our core were walloped 14-1?

MAN OF THE MATCH: DAVID TEO. The constant performer. Using brains and know where to position himself upon receiving the ball. Doesn't yell or scold the teammates. Very, very few negatives we hear from him. He is becoming a better man.

Saturday, 24 October 2015

Buangkok FC 4(David, Alex 2, Shyong Ming) Buangkok FC II 5

It's a tooth-and-nail affair. Buangkok II brought their big guns. This is the line-up for the originals:

GK - Tang Yao
LB - Q-S
CD - Kang Xiang
RB - Cher Siang
DM - Winston
DM - Shyong Ming
CM - Wee Zheng
AM - Alex
ST - David
ST - Daniel

Tang Yao gave his best as keeper. What did Q-S do as left-back? Sexy long balls? Kang Xiang again showing why he is really a top defender. Cher Siang punishing the opponents. Winston doing well in his preferred role. Shyong Ming is a must sure starter in every match. Wee Zheng simple passes. Alex is always the one leading the counter-attacks. David always ready to score. Daniel? *shakes head*

Buangkok II got ahead early when Kenny raced through and scored. 1-0. David equalized 1-1. Then Alex made it 2-1. Buangkok II equalized 2-2. Half-time.

Buangkok FC got their act together. 3-2 and then 4-2. Buangkok FC II clawed back 4-4. Their dangerous player Don came in the 2nd half. Causing troubles. He scored the Golden Goal 5-4.

MAN OF THE MATCH: ALEX TEO. When there's a counter-attack, he is on a solo mission. Keeps it in play and spreads when help arrives. Scores plenty of goals too every Saturday.

Sunday, 18 October 2015

Buangkok FC 6 Buangkok FC II 3

I was asked to play keeper for Buangkok FC II.

Here is the line-up for the originals...

GK - Tang Yao
CD - Cher Siang
CD - Kang Xiang
DM - Shyong Ming
CM - Wee Zheng
CM - Winston
CM - Alex
RW - David

Tang Yao saving shots again. Kang Xiang marshaled the defence well. Shyong Ming plugging the midfield. Wee Zheng with simple passes. Winston one of our mainstay. Alex using intelligence. David scoring.

Although I'm in the losing team, I saved 12 shots but conceded 6. People are congratulating me. They like seeing me play goalkeeper.

There's a bonus match against Banglas. We won 3-1.

MAN OF THE MATCH: DAVID TEO. This man scoring goals all about positioning. Buangkok FC need goals? This man is for the job.

Saturday, 10 October 2015

Buangkok FC 6(How Meng 2, Eugene, Q-S, Winston, Alex) Buangkok FC II 0

This is the formation for the originals...

3-5-2

GK - Tang Yao
LB - Q-S
CD - Kang Xiang
CD - Cher Siang
DM - Shyong Ming
DM - Eugene
DM - Winston
CM - Alex
RW - David
ST - Daniel
ST - How Meng

Not that the other team played badly. They just cannot score. Even when near goal we die-die block like there's no tomorrow.

Tang Yao as GK did a few vital saves. The few who understands why Q-S like to position himself on the left have to keep it to themselves. Kang Xiang with another masterclass performance. Shyong Ming is a core member through and through. Eugene returning after a very long time did well in midfield. Winston also an integral part of the team. Alex with his passes. David running in the flanks. How Meng, back after months of absence, scored two. Daniel tried.

How Meng scored first after an assist from Daniel. 1-0
Eugene with a belter. 2-0
Alex pass to Q-S who chipped the ball. Keeper suspiciously fumbled. 3-0
Winston drove all the way and smashed one. 4-0
How Meng with another goal. A ninja kick from a long-ball. 5-0
How Meng and Alex tried to score from close range which Alex did. 6-0

MAN OF THE MATCH: KANG XIANG. This boy has all the attributes of a defender. Height? He can head the ball better

Buangkok FC 4 Buangkok FC II 2

The first time the men in yellow(Buangkok FC II) played against us at our old hunting ground. I am happy. Finally we returned to the ground on a Saturday afternoon!

These are the Buangkok FC. The originals.

GK - Tang Yao
LB - Q-S
CD - Cher Siang
CD - Kang Xiang
DM - Winston
DM - Shyong Ming
CM - Alex
RM - David

We are outnumbered and yet we won!

Tang Yao always there to snuff out shots. Q-S playing my new preferred position. Kang Xiang not afraid to move forward. Winston moving forward with the ball too. Shyong Ming very seldom place a foot wrong. Alex with wide range of passes(wait a minute. Q-S too have it). David wanting to score.

Winston scored first.
David scored the 2nd and 4th goals.
Shyong Ming scored the 3rd.

Sequence:

BFC 1 BFC II 0
BFC 2 BFC II 0

2nd half

BFC 2 BFC II 1
BFC 2 BFC II 2
BFC 3 BFC II 2
BFC 4 BFC II 2

MAN OF THE MATCH: Shyong Ming. This man is our quietest. But shows he is one of the best. Pass completion and tackles superbly done.

Then we ate at a community centre cum food court. I let down my guard and crack jokes. Next time we eat, I must talk very, very minimal.

Friday, 18 September 2015

18 September 2015

We play on grass field. Here are those of us who attended...

GK - Tang Yao
LB - Q-S
CD - Winston
DM - Shyong Ming
CM - Nicholas
CM - Alex
AM - Kang Xiang
ST - David

We won 7-3 against Ah San's team.

I have lost respect from all of you except a couple. I still have to join because I have no other football buddies. We know each other since you are all little. Time changed. You all have become tough guys. Bullies. Early 20s is a phase where a young man is brash and cocky.

I don't condone maligning a teammate when we are winning. Telling a teammate to move here and there when he doesn't support the system of your favourite team. And then you miss pass twice causing us to concede goals. You blame the other guy marking another opponent. When it's clearly 1v1. You try to sabotage your own teammate because girls are looking at him.

MAN OF THE MATCH: You go ask the girls who were watching.

Saturday, 22 August 2015

22 August 2015

We were depleted. We needed 3 of the opponents to play for us.

GK - Tang Yao
CD - Q-S
CD - Winston
LM - Temp #1
DM - Temp #3
CM - Nicholas
CM - Alex
CM - Wee Zheng
RM - Temp #2
ST - David

The match ended 6-6.

They scored first. 1-0. We equalized 1-1. I accidentally kicked one of their key player. He is certainly not happy. Very angry. Anyways, I didn't mean to. I want to kick the ball but kicked that guy. We went up 2-1. They equalized 2-2 at half-time.

2nd half flurry of goals. They went up 4-3. Again another opponent injured with no intention by me. He went past me. Tang Yao was screaming at me. Then what was I supposed to do? I was on the ground and prevented him from scoring by all means. That guy is in pain physically. But what courage he has. He rationalized with me after the match.

Now that's 2 major injuries. I cannot take it as you can read on my personal blog. My fans. You rout my female colleagues out. With more money soon, I will be a living a no-string-attached life.

At 4-3, I decided to voice out. Positive words. Spurring you all up. 5-3 became 5-4 and then 5-5. They scored 6-5. But we won't let them. We drew the match 6-6 with the last kick of the game.

MAN OF THE MATCH: ALEX. Precise passing. Our best.

Sunday, 16 August 2015

15 August 2015

It's a blockbuster which we won 12-8. Here's our line-up:

GK - Tang Yao
LB - Q-S
CD - Winston
CD - Shyong Ming
RB - Johan
LW - David
CM - Alex
CM - Nicholas
RM - #88
RW - #99
ST - Daniel

We were dealt with a heavy blow when Shyong Ming had to leave early due to injury. We had to reshuffle and quick-draw down by 4-1. 2 of the opponents had to play for us. #88 and #99. I don't know how we did it but we ended the 1st half in the lead 5-4.

2nd half we switched to a lousier pitch. Tang Yao was determined as goalkeeper. Blocking shots. Winston is sinister in defence. Johan, his partner in crime, defended by all means. David bamboozled his way to goals. Alex another masterclass show. Nicholas good in midfield. #88 is a starlet. #99 did well on the wing. Daniel scored a few.

MAN OF THE MATCH: Alex Teo. The totally complete midfielder.

Sunday, 9 August 2015

8 August 2015

We did the impossible yesterday. We were down by 6-0. We equalized 6-6! Here are those who were called upon...

GK - Q-S
LB - Kang Xiang
CD - Shyong Ming
RB - Cher Siang
CM - Nicholas
CM - Wee Zheng
AM - Alex
ST - David

Tang Yao played for the other team. David did so only in the 1st half.

We were horrible in the 1st half. Down by 6-0. Managed to pull 2 back.

In the 2nd half, down by 6-2, we gave our all. I snubbed all shots out as goalkeeper. Kang Xiang blocked a lot of attack. Shyong Ming can defend and attack. Nicholas doing ok as midfielder. Wee Zheng plays simple. Alex class of a midfielder. David always scores.

MAN OF THE MATCH: Q-S. TOTAL SHUTOUT AS GOALKEEPER IN THE 2ND HALF

Sunday, 2 August 2015

1 August 2015

Another cruncher of a match against Ah San's team which we won 11-5...

GK - Q-S
CD - Tang Yao
CD - Kang Xiang
RB - Winston
CM - Shyong Ming
CM - Wee Zheng
CM - Alex
CM - Nicholas
RM - David

1st half we were efficient. 5-0 up with me keeping a clean sheet as keeper. They were congratulating me for a good job.

2nd half and we wrap it up with an 11-5 win. Tang Yao came in the 2nd half. Kang Xiang another splendid showing in defence. Winston winning tackles as always. Shyong Ming is one of our best. Wee Zheng tap-in goals. Alex flexible in passes in the middle. Nicholas our robust midfielder. David has a mindset of scoring.

MAN OF THE MATCH: ALEX TEO. All-round performance. Best goal is a chip.

Sunday, 26 July 2015

25 July 2015

We are outnumbered. Yet we win 8-6.

(3-5-1)

GK - Tang Yao - All-out to save all shots.

LB - Q-S - Below average.

CD - Kang Xiang - We all know what he can do.

RB - Winston - Defended well.

DM - Shyong Ming - Superb.

DM - Nicholas - Steady.

CM - Alex - Ultimate playmaker.

LW - Keith - Brilliant. Scored 4 goals.

RW - David - Ability to switch flanks.

ST - Johan. Deft finisher.

At HT, we were up 7-1. 2nd half, when we switch sides, we were pegged down to 8-6. Considering the fact that we are outnumbered, we managed to escape with a win.

MAN OF THE MATCH: KEITH. This guy scored 4. 2 of them in the space of 2 minutes. That kind of winger who cuts in and score.

The Cage 11 July 2015

The us who turned up.

Alex
David
Kang Xiang
Q-S
Shyong Ming
Keith
Nicholas
Wee Zheng
Tang Yao

The first half was like a Serie A match. 1-1. Cagey affair. The oldies took the lead 1-0. Then we equalized.

2nd half, the oldies were up with all guns blazing. They went up 2-1. We fought back 2-2. Then we took the lead 3-2. We stretched the lead to 6-3. Then 10-3.

At 10-3, we decided to take it easy. I was asked to play striker. That was suicidal. The oldies cut our lead to 10-8. And that's the final score.

What we learnt from this victory.

- Always stick to the plan from start to finish

We thank Keith for returning. The left-wing spot is his.

MAN OF THE MATCH: NICHOLAS. I gifted him his favourite Manchester City player position. He revels in it.

Sunday, 5 July 2015

The Cage 4 July 2015

The golden oldies beat us for the 2nd time. 7-6. It came with at a price for them.

Tang Yao hacked down one of them. I wanted to clear the ball but it hit one of them too.

We were up by 3-0 with Johan scoring a brace. Then they went 4-3 up at HT.

We reshuffled. Going back to our default formation.

4-2-3-1. Kang Xiang and Cher Siang in defence. Winston attacking right-back. Shyong Ming and Wee Zheng DM. Alex as usual playmaker. David on both wings. Johan remain striker

The oldies were up to it. Winning 7-6.

MAN OF THE MATCH: KANG XIANG. Needed in defence.

Sunday, 21 June 2015

The Cage 20 June 2015

We suffered our 1st loss in the hands of the grand oldies. 9-5. Reasons?

Few of us being director of traffic. If you are losing plenty of possession, please don't think you are the MVP. It's because you giving the ball away, the opponents gobble the ball up and score.

We were doing well leading 5-4. How did we concede 5? When people who are brilliant academically but not good in football managerial skills want to be group leader.

Tang Yao. Wee Zheng. Shyong Ming. Johan. Winston. Q-S. Alex. Ah San's son. Daniel. Nazri.

MAN OF THE MATCH: TANG YAO. DETERMINATION TO BLOCK ALL SHOTS

Sunday, 14 June 2015

MAN OF THE MATCH: SHYONG MING. The silent assassin.

Saturday, 6 June 2015

The Cage 6 June 2015

A lot of us came. Here they are...

We are hammering Ah San's team from the start. Got off 5-2 in the 1st half. Me with 1 goal and 2 assists for David.

Alex with all those passes. Q-S placed surprise looks on people's faces on this night.

Alex is rated highly among us. The mathematician midfielder.

David knows how to score.

Unbelievably, I scored 3.

MAN OF THE MATCH: ALEX TEO. Took advantage of us having lesser people by spreading the ball wisely.

Buangkok FC The Cage 23 May 2015

It seems like we are playing at this turf on a permanent basis.

Yesterday, again another match with Ah San's team. They have their own jerseys now in yellow. They even strenghten their numbers.

Here are the Buangkok FC players called upon...

Alex
Kang Xiang
David
Wee Zheng
Shyong Ming
Winston
Johan
Tang Yao
Cher Siang
Q-S

In the 1st half, we were leading 5-2. Ah San boldly claim that his team will win. Alex and Tang Yao had to play for them until half-time.

2nd half was a full court affair. I made many blunders and Cher Siang was critical on every one of them.

Alex was instrumental. Decisive passes and killer goals

Kang Xiang defending really well.

David scored again.

Wee Zheng with his simple passes. Shyong Ming a rock we can depend on.

Johan improving well. Tang Yao defending like The Hulk.

After both halves, Buangkok FC won 9-6.

MAN OF THE MATCH: ALEX. MIDFIELD GENIUS. ASSISTS AND GOALS

Saturday, 16 May 2015

Buangkok FC The Cage 16 May 2015

We again played at The Cage at this expensive turf. First match was Ah San's oldies against the regulars. I was pissed I had to play goalkeeper for the oldies.

Here are the regulars who attended...

David
Wee Zheng
Tang Yao
Winston
Johan
Shyong Ming
Nicholas
Ah San's son

Oldies lost 3-2.

2nd match I'm allowed to play for the regulars. We were hammered up the point of 5-2. Then we miraculously came back and won 6-5. I was granted a Hazard role. Unbelievably, I scored 2. One a chip. The other one squeezing through the left sideline.

David chose to swap sides. Wee Zheng has a knack of scoring when having a below par game. Tang Yao keeper. Winston really defending well. Johan plenty of assists for me. Shyong Ming another remarkable performance. Nicholas with all those passes. Ah San's son is preparing for the future.

MAN OF THE MATCH: A TOSS BETWEEN SHYONG MING AND WINSTON

Buangkok FC The Cage 9 May 2015

Buangkok FC won against Ah San's men. 11-6.

Formation:

GK - Tang Yao

CD - Shyong Ming
CD - Cher Siang
CD - Q-S

LM - Nicholas
CM - Alex
RM - David
RW - Ah Son's son

ST - Wee Zheng

Buangkok FC were rolling. Leading 6-1. Until Ah San's men narrowed it to 6-4.

In the 2nd half, the opponents closed us down to 7-6. We somehow managed to score 4 to make it 11-6.

The midfielders need to defend more. Wee Zheng should just stay in front. So he can take the rebounds.

Sweet to play in artificial pitches.

A match against Ah San and his golden oldies. We won. Everybody played a part.

In other matches, Q-S scored one. A Hazard run from the left and squeezed in with my weaker foot.

We had a meal at McDonald's.

Alex and David asked me whether I prefer cage or field.

We will be a force to be reckoned with.

Buangkok FC Street Soccer 4 April 2015

Today only 5 members of the legendary *ahem* Buangkok FC played street soccer. The ones called into action are Alex, Kang Xiang, Wee Zheng, Tang Yao and...me.

We are up against opponents who look dangerous. They can match us pound for pound. We lost 1st match 3-2. Then another match in the pouring rain. We won 9-6.

Alex was outstanding. Carrying the whole team. Kang Xiang was instrumental too.

After that, Q-S went to watch Fast And Furious 7.

Buangkok FC Street Soccer 28 March 2015

Friday they are tired after Cage. I had to work. Yesterday, Alex, Kang Xiang, David, Wee Zheng, Tang Yao, Cher Siang and me played street soccer.

Around 5 young boys played with us. They are skillful.

A couple of us give chance to the young boys. Let in goals and can still smile and crack jokes.

Overall, a fun-filled afternoon.

Buangkok FC Training 21 March 2015

I had kinda good game. Scored two. Then in a 4-on-3 match tracked our best player Alex all the way to snuff him out.

Alex is an untouchable. He is now 23 years old. Time pass by so fast. He is essential in the middle of the park.

His little brother Kang Xiang is a ball winner. Things looking good for our future private league.

Another brother Kang Wei is known for his powerful shots.

Shyong Ming is another who can stop you in his tracks. Like Kang Xiang, a ball winner, who is one of us from the beginning.

Wee Zheng is part of the core.

Tang Yao remains our first choice goalkeeper.

Now who to fill in our vacant 8th core? Here are the nominees...

Nicholas. From far away willing to come.

Keith. One of Wee Zheng's henchmen who stays.

Winston. Fit Army guy.

As of yesterday, all 3 decided not to show-up.

Ah San's son and his friend Wei Hao made an appearance. Along with 2 very young Indian boys.

3 of our regular Malay boys came. They are deadly. Solving our striking problems.

MAN OF THE MATCH: Red Shirt Malay boy. He has a very good footballing brain. A striker who knows how to defend. Fast.

Buangkok FC Training 7 March 2015

We displayed our 'A' game.

Me and my long ball assists.

Tang Yao enjoying himself as goalkeeper.

Alex again calculated with those passes.

David dribbling and shooting.

Shyong Ming very strong winning balls.

Wee Zheng and his simple passes.

Nicholas good in midfield.

Keith running down the flanks fast.

Ah San with vast experience.

The returning Uncle Justin really a complete player.

A passerby decided to join us and scored a goal.

Ah San's son and his friend joined us for a while.

Anyone I miss?

Steps closer to private league.

Buangkok FC Training 28 March 2015

Now this is really training. Only 7 people turned up. We tested our 3rd choice keeper. We just set up one goalpost for this.

When Alex, Winston and Tang Yao defend, Q-S, Nicholas and David attack. We swap when the attacking team scores.

We have to work on our passing completion. We defend well. Scoring not a problem. Need to sharpen on our passes. Possession lost is statistically clear.

We need to study pass masters of the world. Their positioning without the ball.

Buangkok FC 7 Banglas 4

This is our formation...

GK - Cher Siang
CD - Shyong Ming
CD - Tang Yao
CD - Kang Xiang
CD - Q-S
CM - Wee Zheng
CM - Alex
RM - How Meng
LW - Jeff
RW - David
ST - Ah San
ST - Daniel

Ah San asked those Banglas if they wanted to have a match. They are fast.

Sequence of scoreline:

Buangkok 0 Banglas 1
1-1
2-1
2-2
3-2
3-3
3-4
4-4
5-4
6-4
7-4

Buangkok FC won 7-4

Shyong Ming very tough in defence. Tang Yao like a rock fending off the opponents. Kang Xiang is a master of defending. Q-S did well. Wee Zheng scored one. Alex with his array of passes. How Meng did good. Jeff full of running. David with his vital goals. Ah San instrumental with holding play. Daniel tried with his shots.

MAN OF THE MATCH: KANG XIANG. Holding our fortress well. Really know how to utilize the ball.

Buangkok FC Training 14 February 2015

A healthy attendance. This match stands out...

Ah San's son left early again

Team A 11 Team B 2

Now you look at the teamsheet. How can Team A win?

Team A

GK - Cher Siang
CD - Tang Yao
CD - Shyong Ming
CD - Q-S
DM - Winston
ST - Malay Boy #1
ST - Malay Boy #2

Team B

GK - They rotate
CD - Wee Zheng
CM - Alex
RW - David
AM - Ah San
ST - Daniel
ST - Jeff

Did I miss anyone?

I always insist that there must be defenders. Team A provided that with me, Tang Yao and Shyong Ming shutting out Team B. Winston was given the freedom to roam in attack. We just feed the ball to the Malay boys. They gobble it up like piranhas by scoring a lot.

Team B has no goalkeeper with skill around 70/80 out of 100. Wee Zheng tried. Alex was passing the ball but Team A are pressuring their attack tactic. David running from the flanks. Ah San being intelligent. Daniel also tried. Jeff dribbling around.

Team A's gameplan of defending and threading balls to the Malay boys went really well.

MAN OF THE MATCH: MALAY BOYS. These two are deadly. They are young and by playing with us, who knows? Maybe they can play for the national team? Then they will thank Q-S for giving them the platform.

Buangkok FC Training 7 February 2015

I had a session that is better forgotten. Embarrassing.

Winston, who is a fit army guy, winning challenges. One of our mainstay now.

Shyong Ming superb. Tough like a strong wood.

Both Malay boys are clinical. Reason why they won 5-0 in a match.

Alex using intelligence. How did his coach overlooked him?

David's sole intention is to score goals. Cutting in from flanks.

Daniel, whom I underestimated, scored a header past me. Is his girl looking?

Tang Yao played keeper.

Uncle Ah San decided to play attacker. He is needed in defence.

Keith decided to play central. Should be on the wings.

Uncle Ah San's son played for a while. He is for the future.

A new young Malay boy played. Scored on his debut.

A very young Chinese boy wearing MU jersey played too.

Man Of The Match: Cher Siang

Buangkok FC Training 31 January 2015

The Nike Ordem ball cannot be played on this ground. I'm thinking of bringing back the Mikasa ball that's in my house.

We started with a 3-on-3 match. Followed by this...

Team A 8 Team B 11

Team A

GK - Tang Yao
CD - Winston
CD - Shyong Ming
CM - Alex
LW/RW - David
ST - Malay Boy #2

Team B

GK - Q-S
CD - Xavier
CD - Kang Xiang
CM - Eugene
ST - Iskandar
ST - Malay Boy #1

An intriguing 6 vs 6 match. Tang Yao did his best for Team A. Saving shots. Winston, very fit, technically improving. Running from defence. Shyong Ming is a good stopper. Winning tackles. Alex, pulling strings as usual. Dictating play. David galloping down either flanks. But he is not happy when the opposing keeper is Q-S. Malay Boy #2 is a clinical finisher. He can run back and defend too.

Q-S did plenty of saves in the 2nd half. Seeing what he loathes outside the field spur him on. Xavier plugging in defence. Scored too. Kang Xiang roaming forward with intent. Attacking defender. Eugene rarely came. But did good athletically. Iskandar is a deft finisher. Maybe he should stay upfront. Malay Boy #1 is another gem. A striker who defends.

At half-time it was 3-3. Team B went on a scoring spree and won 11-8. Notable all those saves Q-S made in the 2nd half.

MAN OF THE MATCH: Q-S. Those amazing saves. Double-U A Heish.

Buangkok FC 5 Malay boys + Q-S + Daniel + Winston 6

After a fruitful mini match, 6 Malay boys whom we knew threw the gauntlet. Another match with them. Winston decided to join them. Daniel was forced. I was forced.

Apparently, none of you all would like to lower your pride and be by their side for only one afternoon.

Buangkok FC

GK - Tang Yao
CD - Cher Siang
CD - Kang Xiang
DM - Shyong Ming
CM - Wee Zheng
CM - Alex
CM - Uncle Justin
LW - David
ST - Ah San

In the 1st half, the Malay boys surprised everyone by taking the lead. 1-0. I was playing as goalkeeper for them. Uncle Ah San equalized through a header from a corner. 1-1. Alex tucked in the ball far from my reach to make it 2-1. Ah San stuffed in another header 3-1. Malay boys pulled one back 3-2. End of half.

In the 2nd half, Winston switched places with me. I was playing as a defender. Malay boys equalized quickly. 3-3. Then Buangkok FC grabbed the lead again 4-3. Malay boys showed composure to level 4-4. Malay boys again went up 5-4. Only to be pecked down again 5-5. I suggested to end the match as a draw. But all would like to continue.

One unbelievably accurate long ball from me, a Malay boy brought the ball down, laid down for another and Malay boys stole the lead. That's the final score. 6-5 to Malay boys.

The Malays are well-informed that a fall-out Q-S had to play for the opposing team. Q-S is not a kelong, was not a kelong and will never be a kelong.

MAN OF THE MATCH: AH SAN. This man I repeatedly say defy the logic of smoking and fit for his age.

Buangkok FC Training 17 January 2015

Many people came on this day. This match is outstanding.

Team A 5 Team B 1

Team A

GK - Tang Yao
LB - Q-S
CD - How Meng
CD - Winston
CM - Alex
RW - Kang Xiang's friend
ST - Iskandar
ST - Malay Boy #1
ST - Malay Boy #2

Team B

GK - Cher Siang
CD - Kang Xiang
CD - Chinese uncle
CM - Nicholas
CM - Wee Zheng
CM - Uncle Justin
RW - David
AM - Ah San
ST - Daniel

Did I leave anyone out?

The three Malay guys really did the damage on Team B. Their understanding stems from knowing each other very well. Tang Yao saving shots as usual for Team A. Q-S playing at left-back. How Meng playing defender moving forward too. Winston is a good winner of the ball. Alex, again, with all those passes which are sheer quality. Kang Xiang's friend made another appearance. Iskandar and his two Malay friends. He scored twice.

Team B Kang Xiang was outnumbered but he tried his best. Chinese uncle now I do not know the real reason why he joins us. Nicholas one of our key midfielder. Wee Zheng passes the ball. Uncle Justin, who enjoys playing with us, shows age is no barrier. David running down the right-wing. Ah San has a good football brain. Daniel scored the consolation goal for Team B.

Looks like we are back entertaining every Saturday afternoon.

MAN OF THE MATCH: Alex Teo. Controlling the total pace of the game. 2 goals. Belongs to the top 10% of intelligent people in his age group.

Buangkok FC Street Soccer 10 January 2015

Our Buangkok FC look dark. Uncle Ah San has deleted himself from our WhatsApp group. Apparently, he's not pleased with me making fun of his nieces. If I, one of the pioneer, is kicked out of the team, we are doomed. Because I'm the most influential and we find it hard to even have a starting XI these days. Not like in the past.

If Ah San decides to exile me, I have back-up plans. Once a week at the field in Serangoon. Once a week at Cage. Twice at the street soccer court.

Today at the court, we made a mistake. There were tough matches against young boys. We should just continue. Because only we have a football, we decided to go shelter and rest. We had embarrassed young people. They look like fools, all 15+ of them with no ball. A few of them threw tantrums. Next time we play, just let them play. Win or lose, at least we entertain ourselves.

Q-S
Alex
David
Kang Xiang
Wee Zheng
Cher Siang
Daniel

TBH, Q-S, Alex, David, Kang Xiang and Cher Siang are worth mentioning today. I'm not being bias at all.

You people are getting sick of my cousins jokes. "Since your sister rejected me, I can settle for 2 of your cousins." Does this statement make any sense at all?

Buangkok FC Training 3 January 2015

A healthy number of people arrived.

Q-S
Alex
Kang Xiang
Winston
Ah San
Ah San's son
David
Jeff
Tang Yao
Nicholas

A fun-filled afternoon for us. The field is slightly better.

I am rolling back the years as an outfield player. Taking back what was stolen from me.

Alex is sharp with his wide range of passes. We benefit from this.

Kang Xiang is a defender that likes to move forward. Quite risky.

Winston using his army training to advantage. Our fittest.

Ah San, who brought us here in the first place, defies the logic of smoking.

Ah San's young son is going to be a talented footballer. We are training him.

David again rampaging. A powerhouse.

Jeff returned after a long hiatus. Should pass but dribble too much.

Tang Yao, a trained goakeeper, provided comic relief playing as defender.

Nicholas instrumental in midfield. Had settled into our team very well.

MAN OF THE MATCH: ALEX TEO. The complete midfielder. Highly intelligent.

Saturday, 3 January 2015

Buangkok FC The Cage 2 January 2015

11 of us played The Cage at Kovan. We had a lot of fun playing series of matches.

Q-S indeed getting better. Improving a lot

Alex showed why he's best technically. Adapting to field, street and cage

Kang Xiang lethal in defence and attack. Very fit and should be considered by an official local club.

David shoots the ball at sight. With authority.

Wee Zheng scored few.

Keith is fast. Running at players.

Cher Siang defending.

Daniel may miss chances. But he scores very well.

Tang Yao playing keeper. Doing well.

Shyong Ming is at the peak of his game. Stalwart in defence.

Nicholas an all-round midfielder. Should stick in the middle.

It feels good playing in a different football environment. Maybe we should play cage once a month?
