Buangkok FC Street Soccer 30 January 2016

Like another issue of a comic book, our adventures continue again. We decided to play street soccer. Only 6 of us came. Alex, David, Kang Xiang, Q-S, Tang Yao and Cher Siang.

The first match was against a group of young boys from a secondary school military band. We won 19-14. These boys sure won't forget this day. They will come back years later bigger and better.

The second match is against a big guy and small guys. I played goalkeeper and when the score is 2-2, Tang Yao took over. We won 5-3.

The third match, the big guy called 3 of his big friends. We were down 2-0. Rallied back up 2-2. They won 3-2. We decided to leave.

Alex did well, a master of the court. David just slots in the goals. Kang Xiang doing the defence to attack. Cher Siang is about brute force. Tang Yao saves shots. I am not really pleased with my goals for the first match. The opponents are lower secs for God's sake.

Just another Saturday for us.

We won 5-4. Tough match. I was given the task to choose the teamsheet. This is how I set it up...

3-0 we went up. All 3 scored by Johan. An own goal made it 3-1. Kang Xiang thumped one in. So the half ended 4-1.

In the 2nd half, an outrageous goal by their Kenny made it 4-2. Then an own goal 4-3. Uncle Ah San, the CEO, equalized for them 4-4.

At 4-4, many of us are smiling. Something is not right. Me, Alex, David, Cher Siang and Tang Yao are not. David is not buying it and stuffed in the winning goal. We won by golden goal 5-4.

MAN OF THE MATCH: JOHAN. A HAT-TRICK. 2ND GOAL ACROBATIC.

Another round of us against the other us.

Team yellow are without dangerous Don, Kenny and that guy who plays like Paul Scholes. But their Brazilian played. His name is Luke.

Ah San's troop went ahead 1-0 through Uncle Justin(thanks for the transport man). We equalized through Johan. Then they took the lead again 2-1. Keith popped up with a goal to end the half 2-2.

Tang Yao giving 100% as goalkeeper. Only idiots still say Q-S can't play football. And keeps on repeating that. Winston is the mainstay of the team. Wee Zheng, after getting mocked of the losing streak, improves a bit. Alex is the fulcrum of the team. We like to play counter-attack and he is the conductor of the tune. Shyong Ming is the all-rounder winning balls in the middle of the pitch. Keith is needed on that wing. Contributed tremendously with 2 huge goals. Johan knows how to get into good positions. David is vital in the attack play.

2nd half everyone upped their game. Keith took the golden goal. Buangkok FC originals won 3-2.

MAN OF THE MATCH: TANG YAO. HE IS CHANGING FOR THE BETTER WITH ALL THOSE SAVES. SHOULD REFRAIN FROM HITTING ANOTHER MAN.

The originals against the yellow invaders again.

The 1st half we were horrific. How Meng played for the opponents. We were down 3-1. If they can see, they have one man extra. Then when their 3rd goal came, 2 of their players just joined in. We were heavily outnumbered. So HT 3-1.

I kept my mouth shut during break. 2nd half we were down 5-3. Tang Yao has changed in this aspect not like when he was younger. He still save shots even though we were down. Winston is defending well. Also attacking. Eugene seldom place a foot wrong. Wee Zheng badly needed to end that losing streak. Alex is the link everywhere in the pitch. Johan's positioning is good. David's goals are vital. How Meng, our Home United superstar...I wish he plays every Saturday.

We managed to climb back 5-5. 3 more goals and it's 8-5. That's a wrap. I contributed by praising and showing players with ball teammates in good position. This is how I talk.

We won. That's all that matters. 8-5

A bad day at the office for the Buangkok FC originals.

The afternoon started with us, Buangkok FC II(yellow) and another one of them(dark blue) in Triple Threat matches. One goal and change team. The yellow team won 4, dark-blue team 2 and us 0. Poor uncle Daniel suffered a concussion when he crashed against the metal crossbar.

So another black against yellow match...
